He gained his MS in General Surgery and then trained asa Fellow in Surgical Oncology at The Tata Memorial Hospital in Bombay. He started his training in plastic surgery in 1989 at the King Edward Memorial Hospital in Bombay he was awarded an MCh in Plastic Surgery and ranked first in this examination.
