Each year in Britain, there are approximately 100,000 cosmetic plastic surgery procedures undertaken. In USA, in 2007, almost 12 million cosmetic procedures were performed. The staggering increase in cosmetic surgery in recent years could be partly due to the media keeping it a hot topic and partly to the increased awareness of what could be offered to improve self-appearance and body image. There is an increased devotion of individuals to looking and feeling best. Breast enlargement remains one of the most common cosmetic surgery procedures with a 250% increase in the number of patients, over the last few years.
